For the 5th edition, the producers of Roero D.O.C.G. have chosen the Palace of Venaria Reale

One of the landmarks of Piedmont, the Reggia (Palace) of Venaria Reale, a magnificent 17th century royal residence, will host the fifth edition of the eventcreated by the RoeroProducers’ Consortium, devoted to the Piedmontese denomination represented by a great white ambassador, Roero Arneis, and a fine red made from Nebbiolo grapes, Roero.
“Roero Days - Roero at the Royal Palace” has the objective ofmaking better known the wines and the people who produce them thanks to the possibility of having direct contact with 80 of the denomination’s wineries (in other words, almost all of the region’s producers).
It will be an opportunity to discover, through the producers’ testimony, an extraordinary wine zone just an hour away from Turin: it is wild and well-ordered at the same time, with its manicured, vine-clad hills that alternate with woodland, hazelnut groves and the extraordinary environment of the Rocche. The event will be open to the public and to members of the trade throughoutthe day of Sunday 5th April andin the afternoon of6th.
During the Roero Days, visitors will be able to deepen their knowledge of the wines at seminarstutored by some of Italy’s most authoritative wine journalists. This year’s theme will be “Vertical Tastings of White and Red Roero D.O.C.G.”: at each tasting 3 D.O.C.G. wines made from Arneis and 3 made from Nebbiolo will be sampled and commented on. These will be from different vintages and different producers, thus allowing tasters to grasp to the full the capacity for evolution of both wine styles.
We will also celebrate the “anniversaries of Roero”, all marked by the number 5: 5 years of the Consortium, 15 years of “Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita”and 25 years of the “Denominazione di Origine Controllata”. To do so, on the Monday there will be a special lunch, prepared by the four Michelin-starred restaurants in the Roero area: an invitation-only event highlighting the all-round excellence of the Roerozone.
For all the visitors, on the other hand, the celebrations will conclude with an extraordinary
Artistic Show, an interplay of lights and waterwhich, at the end of the day, will feature the Fountains of the Palace.
